Transportation capacity in the Mekong delta
How is the development of transportation capacity in the Mekong delta in comparison with other regions? The public dataset from General Statistics Office (GSO) provides the data of the volume of freight carried over years. This could give some insights into how transportation grows.
By region, the growth of transportation in the Mekong Delta has been far lagged behind that of other regions, which is only half of the national rate.
The below graph presents in detail the transportation capacity growth of some provinces in the Mekong Delta. Except for three provinces, almost all others have the growth rate under the national rate. Some provinces even only have grown slightly and hover around the level in 2010.
